Accutane is Pulled off the Market in the United States

An Accutane recall was issued by Roche in June 2009, citing the cost of defending Accutane injury suits as a factor in the decision to discontinue the medication in the United States. Since being introduced in 1982, approximately 16 million people have taken Accutane, and there are numerous lawsuits against Roche that are still pending because of claims of bowel disease.
